Solid biofuels, including wood chips, are still the most important feedstock in structure of primary energy production from renewable sources. Wood chips derived mainly forests and industry, sawmills. However, considerable diversity chipper types results great differences their final efficiency. The objective this study was to analyze evaluate efficiency three mobile chippers used chip by determining throughput rate, diesel fuel consumption, cost chipping greenhouse gas emission, as well quality chips. By far shortest time (0.82 min. Mg−1) producing 1 Mg found for Albach 565 kW chipper. Moreover, mean needed with a same make but smaller engine (Albach 515 kW) 8.8% longer.
